As part of Play Ball Weekend, The Charlotte Knights are hosting a Pitch, Hit, and Run contest for any baseball or softball player interested. Check in will begin at 8am on Saturday, June 14th inside the main gate on the corner of Mint Street and MLK Jr. Blvd. Check in will end at 8:45am. Parking is available in the Mint Street Parking Deck located at the Residence Inn. Please note, that if you want to stay, the parking deck is not free and will need to be paid for. There are plenty of options for parking to choose from, that is just the closest one to the ballpark. Parents are welcome to stay and watch their kids in the competition, but we ask they remain in the areas that are not blocked off during the event. Players will compete in Pitching, Hitting, and Running. Participants will compete against kids in their age groups below:

7-8 years old

9-10 years old

11-12 years old

13-14 years old

We ask that players do not wear cleats or spikes to the event, as they will not be needed for any portion. The running portion will take place on the concourse above 3rd base. Players will need to bring their own bats, if able, as we are not able to provide bats for all the different age groups.

If you are interested in participating, please make sure to register. Walk-ups are based on availability, and we cannot guarantee what will be available on the day of the event.

This event is scheduled to run from 9am-2pm with 8am being the call time for Check-in.

Program Information

Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) events provide boys and girls an opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills, with the opportunity of earning a chance to attend and compete for a Championship during the 2025 MLB World Series!

Approved local events give youth organizations an opportunity to provide a free and high-quality experience for their participants. Even more, by hosting, they expand their programs, while building a strong relationship with MLB, MiLB, and its partners.

The Pitch, Hit & Run program is a free event series for boys and girls, and consists of a series of movements that are important in baseball and softball. Participants will compete in either 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, or 13-14 age division, with the Age Cut-off set on November 15, 2025. They will be tested, and their measurements will be recorded for points.
